When it comes to problem-solving, I make a point of exercising root cause analysis of problems and reviewing the progress I make on removing the causes.  In doing so, I have succeeded in addressing the challenging problems facing me.

To begin, in order to deal with problems effectively and efficiently, I have to locate the root causes of the problems.  Then, I make action plans to remove the causes of the problems.  In this stage, I list the necessary resources to implement specific actions in terms of time, energy, and money.  Also, I have to set the deadlines for each specific target, since, in most cases, the problems should be resolved within the certain timeframe.

In addition, while implementing the action plans, I carefully check whether the actions make progress according to the plans.  If some action plans were running behind the schedule, I would take extra actions to make up the delays.  The earlier I come to realize the necessary adjustments to the original plans, the more likely it is for me to recover unexpected or unforeseen delays and shortcomings.  Therefore, these plan-do-see cycles have made my plans feasible.

Finally, by repeating the plan-do-see process in the problem-solving, I feel confident that I could manage any challenging problem however difficult it might seem.  Rather than wasting precious time overwhelmed by the problem, I could start the problem-solving process by analyzing what are root causes and how they are to be addressed in the most effective and efficient ways.  This approach could apply to any problem in any context I face.

It is true that I have not always succeeded in dealing with all the problems.  However, because of the three reasons I mentioned above, the plan-do-see process in the problem-solving has achieved certain desired outcomes.
